On the 25th-27th of April 2012, an eight-member delegation comprised of representatives of the Zimbabwe Peace and Security Education and Training Network (ZIPSET) and the Zimbabwe Peace and Security Programme (ZPSP) undertook a learning visit to the University of Witwatersrand which houses the Southern African Defense and Security Management network (SADSEM) and the Centre for Defense and Security Management (CDSM).

The delegation was led by the University of Zimbabwe’s Centre for Defense Studies-the SADSEM representative in Zimbabwe. The purpose of the visit was to get a good understanding of the Centre for Defense and Security Management (CDSM) and the courses and curricula; get a good briefing on SADSEM and the experience and process of building the SADSEM network; get SADSEM’s advice on the proposed Work Plan for the Zimbabwean universities as well as to discuss ZIPSET’s next steps in curriculum development.
